In 2021, WhatsApp released a new beta for linked devices. While this makes things significantly more convenient, you may be in an awkward situation if you have more team members who need to log in to more phones, and some get disconnected halfway through chatting with customers due to the limited logins. Starting May 2023, you will be able to link up to 4 phones as the additional devices connected to your registered WhatsApp Business number. If you’ve used WhatsApp on your mobile phone and other devices, you’d probably know that you need to have all devices linked with one mobile phone to connect to the same account. Imagine the extra convenience and flexibility you get as WhatsApp supports multiple devices.

Having this update basically revolutionizes the way we use this app. Now, you can connect up to 4 additional phones. Though WhatsApp already supports 5 devices right now using WhatsApp Web, you can only use your registered mobile phone and another 4 additional non-phone devices.

So yes, you no longer need a mobile phone to use WhatsApp. The global mobile messaging giant is rolling out a new feature that allows both mobile and non-mobile phone devices to use the service without needing a registered phone being connected to the internet.

Some of them may not matter, but it seems the latest one definitely does. You may have received loads of WhatsApp updates for the past years.
